South Africa’s water crisis is no longer a warning but an operational reality.
The 2022 SAICE Infrastructure Report Card found that only 40% of water systems meet microbiological standards, and just 23% comply with chemical standards. Access to clean water continues to decline across several provinces. Ageing infrastructure, institutional instability, funding shortfalls, technical capacity gaps, and governance weaknesses are converging into a systemic delivery crisis.
The 2025 Water Infrastructure Asset Management Conference, themed “Building Resilient Water Systems for a Sustainable Future”, reaffirmed the importance of asset management, but delegate feedback clearly called for:
This is not another high-level discussion about resilience, but rather a solutions-driven platform focused on:
Government representatives and officials from relevant departments including municipalities and
water services authorities (WSAs)
Learn about cutting edge technologies and best practices for improving water quality, access, and monitoring systems.
Contribute to shaping the future of South Africa’s water infrastructure and the development of equitable solutions for all communities.
Hear from leading experts in water engineering, policy, and management, providing valuable insights and guidance.
Participate in conversations about shaping water policies and strategies that address both short term crises and long term sustainability.
We promote and create opportunities for professionalism in the
development and management of sustainable energy. We create a total
continuous learning experience for delegates. We serve!
